Low cement castable is a new type of castable which contains very little binding dose. The key is to use ultrafine particles no more than 1 m. Its heat shock resistance, slag resistance, erosion resistance significantly improved, more than similar firebrick. Low cement castable and no cement castable can be prepared by further reducing binder content.
Low cement castable is the castable with low cement consumption. The cement dosage of refractory cement castable is generally 15% ~ 20%, the cement dosage of low cement castable is 5% or so, some even reduced to 1% ~ 2%. The purpose of reducing cement content is to improve the refractory properties of castable.
It relies on the addition of several special raw materials to obtain good performance: first, pure calcium aluminate cement, due to the high content of the effective mineral CaO·Al2O3, less can be added to obtain the required strength. The second silica fume is glass beads with SiO2 content ranging from 93% to 98% and average particle size about 0.5 m. After adding silica fume, the castable has good fluidity, low water requirement for forming and low sintering temperature, thus avoiding the performance after heat treatment. Third, alumina powder, it is easier to participate in the reaction, improve the fire resistance of the material. Fourth, water reducer, it can adsorb on the surface of the powder, and then produce electrostatic repulsion dispersion powder, thus further play the role of micro powder.
